Fake Signal Providers

A trading signal service tells subscribers when to enter and exit trades, usually for a subscription fee. Legitimate services exist, but the category is also full of providers who fabricate or cherry-pick their track record because a channel's entire value proposition rests on looking consistently profitable, and there's rarely any independent check on what they actually posted in real time.

The classic fabrication pattern is posting results after the fact: a signal is "sent" privately, and if it wins, it gets screenshotted and shared as proof; if it loses, it's quietly deleted or never mentioned again. Another pattern is cherry-picking — showing only the best trades from a much larger, mostly losing set, or showing a chart with an entry and exit marked after the price move already happened, which is trivial to construct and proves nothing about real-time skill. Screenshots of profit are especially weak evidence because they can be taken from a demo account, a backtest, or edited entirely.

What actually matters is a verified, timestamped track record — meaning the signals were posted publicly at the time they were given, before the outcome was known, ideally through a third-party tracking service or a public channel with an unbroken, unedited history that anyone can scroll back through. Look for a track record that includes losing trades and drawdown periods, not just wins, since a genuine strategy that trades enough will lose sometimes; a feed that shows only winners over a long period is a sign of curation, not skill.

Before paying for any signal service, ask to see the timestamped public history rather than a highlight reel, check whether the win rate and risk-reward numbers are internally consistent with the account growth claimed, and treat any refusal to show unedited history as a disqualifying answer in itself. A real trader with a real edge has nothing to hide in their own timeline.
